According to the explanations of Public Hospitals Union General Secretary Prof. Dr. Süleyman Sırrı Kılıç, the year 2017 is going to be a year full of breakthroughs when it comes to medical tourism in Turkey.
According to the “Blacksea – Samsun, The City of Health Project” he added that many improvements have been made to the equipment of the hospitals within the union and said that: “In Samsun, we have 21 medical institutions of which the General Secretary of Public Hospitals Union is in management of finance and medical issues. The biggest hospital being a member of our union in the city is the University of Health Sciences Samsun Education and Research Hospital. We have 700 beds within the hospital, each giving medical services in a hotel-wise comfort. Every year around 6,5 million people get treatment in the city’s hospitals. The emergency cases are around 2 million. Which means 2 out of 3 patients get medical service in our hospitals.
Out of 8 cities, Samsun has one of the most extensive oncology centers of Turkey and also is one of the 15 cities serving with a center for burned patients. About the hospitals of Samsun, Kılıç underlined that:
“The hospital is going to have Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery and the Burned Patients Center within its Units according to the Samsun, The City of Health.
We are planning to welcome patients from Africa, the Middle east and neighboring countries like Georgia, Russia and Azerbaijan within the medical services in a hotel comfort in Samsun and hope that the year 2017 is going to be a year full of breakthroughs for Samsun.”
