Structured in the desert, the Dubai Miracle Garden is one of the most touristic places in the UAE. Emirates Aircraft team and the hosting team came together to co-operate in building a life-sized A380 in the garden completely out of flowers and plants. Over more than half a million of flowers where used for the giant A380.
The real A380 weighs 575 tons and when it is made from flowers only, it is pretty heavy either, 100 tons in total.
The 7 different kinds of flowers which were used for the structure where grown in the nursery part of Dubai’s Miracle Garden. Petunia, Coleus (Plectranthus scutellarioides), Marigold (Tagetes), Snapdragon (Antirrhinum), Viola, Geranium (Pelargonium) and Gaillardia (Gaillardia aristata).
The Emirates logo only needed more than 9 thousand flowers and plants to be constructed and more than 100 thousand for the wings.
200 gardeners worked around 180 days, ten hours each day to build this beautiful piece of art.
The skeleton for the flowers weighs 30 tons and is used of recycled materials.
The real-sized A380 is 73 meters long and has already drawn all the attention deserved within the biggest natural garden.
