According to information from Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) , Costa Rica’s 2021 carbon neutral goal has already achieved for green and bright future.
The world realizes the importance of the clean energy anymore. In this path, Costa Rica can be seen as a perfect example. According to Andrea Watson’s interview with Huffington Post who is working at National Renewable Energy Laboratory says:
The idea out of the agreement wasn’t that everyone will cut their emissions by this much, or that everyone must convert to renewable energy, but rather, every country will take an individualized approach to ambitious renewable energy goals — one that works best for them and their development goals.”
Costa Rica is unique country in many ways. Thanks to advantage of small population, energy usage of the per household is relatively low. Also the country is also use natural advantage which is the main source of renewable energy.
The country plans to diversify the sources of renewable energy system with thinking sustainable development like solar energy, small wind turbines, and geothermal plants and want to use less hydropower.
We wish a world that every country started to use renewable energy and leave a bright future for our kids.
