Miss Liberty Will Meet with Her Own Museum
The Statue of Liberty, which is the worldwide known symbol like her name since its construction in 1886 in New York City, the United States, is going to have a Museum of her own.
Frederic Barthold designed the bronze statue and France has it constructed for the 100. Anniversary of America.
The Statue of Liberty is in the Liberty Island in New York. The torch she is holding in one hand symbolizes with its seven edges 7 continents or the seas. On her other hand, she holds a tablet on which is written the 04th of July, 1776, the declaration day of independence of the United States.
The 93-meter-high statue is now being prepared to attract even more tourists and fans. In 2019 museum is being planned and projected to be opened on the Island which will be showing history of the statue and reflecting old and new like a bridge. The museum is also going to have the old original torch inside it.
Planned on a 25.830 square meter big area, the details of the museum were introduced by the ESI Design company which is planning to enrich the history of the statue with its restoration in 1986.
“Our aim is to show what the Statue of Liberty really means to people” said Edwin Schlossberg from ESI Design.
On the other hand, the company FxFowle will oversee the architectural side of the museum. The company explained that they are planning to use glass for the roof of the museum as an eco-friendly material and then cover it with grass. The construction company Phelps Group on the other side projects to use granite and bronze to enable a visual harmony on the Island.
