Mysterious State Plans to Open Doors to Tourists

As you all know, North side of Korea famous for its secret. There is a lot of speculations and some secret taken photos over there but, according to Korea Times that will totally change. The last numbers show us this mysterious  state earned between $30.6 million to $43.6 million from tourism 2014.

About to 100.000 tourist visited North Korea in 2014 and not surprisingly, almost all of them from China and just 5.000 from Western countries.

Korea Maritime Institute researcher Yoon In-ju, told Korea Times:

“North Korea could capitalize on tourism as a growth engine to escape poverty,”

But the state also wants to see growing numbers of visitors, also wanted to see more than 2 million visitors until 2020. For that reason the country reconsider the budget of the tourism and invest the construction of touristic attractions such as the Masikryong ski resort.

Besides that kind of positive news, mysterious state  North Korea is still secretive state for tourists. For breaking that perception some kind of tours launched and they arranged trips to North Korea from Beijing. But tourist cannot be trip the city of the North Korea without their tour guide.

Tours offers tourists Pyongyang marathon, see the military parades and visit other sites. That will be cost about 1.300 euros.

So we will see tourism initiatives of North Korea in time.
