Mehmet Kaya is a young entrepreneur, sustaining the art of skewers, a 140-year-old skill inherited and handed down from his grandfather. Not only he continues the legacy left, the entrepreneur made it in the World Guinness Records. 
Mehmet Kaya is a name who continues the taste of 140 years initiated by his grandparent in Pinarkent, Denizli, organising skewers eating contests in his restaurant. By organising contests each day in his restaurant, he received participants from all over Turkey and so far broke a record with 180 thousand pieces of skewers cooked for the contests. 
PARTICIPANTS COMING FROM ALL OVER TURKEY

Mustafa Kaya who wants to promote the delicate and famous Turkish taste of skewers to the whole world and advance the operation and tradition of it, says; ‘Every weekend participants come from all over Turkey as families and so far we’ve had a female customer stunned us with breaking a record by eating 250 skewers at one sitting.’

With popular articles about the contest held in the press, the businessman even got partnership offers form customers. ‘After the record of 180 thousand units of skewers, I started getting dealership offers all around Turkey. Introducing this Turkish tradition and famous flavour to the world is my biggest target, therefore I’ll definitely carry these contests to an international platform.’
Mehmet Kaya’s inclusion in the Guinness Records is a result of one of his British customers‘ offer.
