Last year over $1,245 billion is spent in international tourism around the world.
China taking the lead, spent $165 billion last year with an increase of 28%. Increased income in the country allows citizens to be more financially equipped to travel outside its borders.
The U.S. comes in at second in terms of spending out $112 billion, up 7% from last year. The number of American passport holders in % 38.
The third biggest spends are Germans, at $92 billion.
Fourth is United Kingdom, which spends $58 billion.
Fifth is the Russian Federation, down 6% from last year with $50 billion.
