Disney began to consider its pricing strategy for its theme parks. They started to use high prices for busy days of theme parks and low price for slower days. That’s the similar of Uber’s implementation of use of hotels and airlines.
Disney spokesperson Jacquee Wahler explained the situation to NBC News:
“We continue to evolve the way we think about managing demand — particularly during our busiest seasons — in order to deliver a world-class experience for our guests,”
“In addition to continuing to expand, we are also exploring pricing options that could help spread out visitation throughout the year.”
So of course as a holiday season people choose more to go theme parks conversely cold days. And little bit annoying I think but Disney thinks attract more people in off season and weekdays. Current prices of Disneyland California are for single day use- $99 and Magic Kingdom’s Florida’s price is $105 for single ticket.
They began to surveying visitors about Uber style pricing. We don’t know maybe Disney visitors want to come weekdays and off season often but I guess most of the people won’t like possible pricing strategy of Disney.
